So I think I told you all that I had been going through old journals and found some poetry that I had been working on...well, I worked on some of the stuff and will post some of it.
Anyway, this one was based on a phrase a friend had used one time, "skin hunger," to describe that feeling of needing to be touched by another person. A posting by Flash ( http://flashywashywoowoo.blogspot.com/ ) reminded me of it and inspired a re-working of the poem. So here it is..
Skin Hungry
Can you feel that?
The aching, yearning
for skin against skin.
A co-worker's elbow brushing your own.
A mother's hand cupping her infants head.
Children deprived of touch
rock and hit their heads
and sometimes die.
Alone at night,
I dream of skin and hair
and soft breath against my neck.
Licking my lips,
I find the salt of my tears.

Excellent!
And yes, I can feel it!
Also big yay for the date, hope your happiness endures.
Yes, here's to enduring happiness!
But, really, I'm trying to keep myself on earth. Otherwise, it's really hard to get anything done. I don't suppose I could go home from work because I was feeling blissful, could I?
