"Huki huki huki huki hukilau"

I sometimes have these great revelations during the day about what I should write in my blog. Do I write them down? No. Then, by the time I get done with my day, I'm too tired to remember.

I moved out of the Cottage tonight. I'll miss the kitties, but in just 2 days I move in with Scout for the weekend! We'll go for walks, we'll bark at each other. It will be so much fun!

I just checked on-line and found out that my tax return should be deposited on Friday! Yay for more financial solvency. With that I'm set for my trip, financially speaking. I can't go wild, but I can eat...and still do all the things I need to do before I leave (like take classes to maintain my social work license...and pay the license renewal fees).

Okay, so my last post brought the Amazing Race watchers out of the closet...how many of you are going to cop to watching the train wreck that is America's Next Top Model. Yes, yes, I do...despite my body issues and my feelings about the modeling industry, there's just something sort of horrifying and fascinating at the same time. It's definitely facinating how completely artificial it all is.

Okay, I'm about to fall asleep...I'm to bed!

Sorry, not to bring anyone down, but I never could get in all of those "reality" tv shows except for the Real World, way back when and Road Rules or whatever it was called. I just have a huge problems with folks showing their most aweful side for the sake of being on television. It makes me think of Jerry Springer and all that human uglyness. I guess I always felt that there is enough uglyness in the world already without adding to it. Sorry, just can't get on that band wagon.

Hurray for Scout and tax returns! :0)

I watched the first season of America's Next Top Model, but then I stopped. The only ones I watch now are Amazing Race and Survivor. :0)

I loathe reality shows but I LOVE LOVE LOVE America's Next Top Model, I think BECAUSE of my body issues. This show reveals the truth behind modeling: that, ultimately, these are just skinny girls with good photographers, good make up artists and good airbrushing. And it doesn't exactly make them out to be Mensa geniuses, either, which allows me to revel a little in my physical imperfections.

I'm an Idol fan, too, but for less complicated reasons: I like to hear people sing their hearts out. And Ace is pretty.
