CollegeFriend is here. I took him to the Albany Waterfront yesterday to see the cool art work and the way the concrete and steel combined with the local vegetation seem to make their own artwork. It really is amazing.
CF is pretty easy to entertain, thankfully, as my sinuses are still giving me hell and I'm woefully fatigued. My doctor did prescribe some medication to help ease the congestion, but I can definitely tell when it wears off. I think I'll put some eucalyptus oil in my shower this morning and see if that helps some.
Today, we are off to the annual festival celebrating the oddness that is Berkeley, CA. Art cars, face painting, 60 year-old hippies dancing in the sun. Ah, it's going to be a lovely day.
As an aside...I have to mention how completely horrified I sometimes am by our popular culture media's complete cluelessness. I was in the chiropractor's office on Friday and saw the cover of People magazine from July. On the cover was Kirstie Allie touting her weight-loss, and how anyone could do it (with a personal chef and personal trainer, I'm sure)...in the corner of the same cover was a picture of an American Idol star from last season talking about how she was overcoming bulimia. I was much more interested in the article about the woman struggling with bulimia, and this is where the irony ramps up...in the article, she talks not about having to control her food, she talks about having to reign in her diet mentality. It's completely maddening!
Okay, that's all for today. I'll post pictures of all my adventures with CF, but maybe not until next week.

I've always been resentful about that kind of media hypocrisy... Can't wait for the pics.
