All the world is a stage

I saw more "theater" this weekend than I am used to. Actually, since I started seeing S, I've seen a lot more "theater" than I would have been inclined to do.

Friday night, we went to see a production of Alice in Wonderland. That story has always felt a bit chaotic and frightening to me. And, unfortunately, this production didn't help. I remember that there was at least some cohesion to the narrative in the past, but this just felt like a series of unrelated scenes. S' review was concise and to the point: "It sucked."

I spent Saturday doing a little resting and some cleaning. I almost went to see the second Elizabeth movie, but a nap won out (if you knew how much I adore Tudor England, you'd know this was a serious need to nap). I did get some cleaning and laundry done in the evening.

Sunday, I met up with S & SS. S had bought some hula hoops, so we spent a brief time wiggling around with them. S was very good at it. With my butt, you'd think I'd have an advantage, but I think it might actually be a disadvantage.

We went to see a production of Charlotte's Web by a children's musical company in Alameda. It was very amusing. The kids were not great actors and some of them just could not carry a tune, but they did great and had a wonderful time doing it, you could tell.

Then it was off for a walk on the beach to harrass the seagulls before dinner at a local sushi restaurant.

I was exhausted by the end of the day, and I woke exhausted still.

I'm off to spend my day training a new social worker. My colleague gets back tomorrow, thank the gods!

I haven't hula-hooped in a long time... I doubt I could do it anymore either. :)
