Quiet weekend

Well, I've gotten my wish....

I went over to S' house on Friday night. We stayed in and worked on rewriting the lyrics of a song (set to the tune of Old Man River) that is in a musical he is preparing for. I think it's a purim spiel, but there's a lot of talk of chocolate so I don't exactly know.

It was a lot of fun. I've never done anything quite like that and it was neat to be bouncing ideas between S & myself.

We ate dinner, then we watched an episode of The Pick-up Artist. It really is interesting, although sometimes a bit creepy. Then to bed.

I had clients in the morning, then I headed back to S'. I was feeling really off after seeing clients. Kind of tired and a little bit of a scratchy throat. After eating lunch and discussing how I felt, we decided to press on with our plans of going to the Y. We played racket ball (with a really old ball, so it didn't hardly bounce) and practiced our stuff from combat class. It was pretty amusing because people kept looking in...a little uncomfortable when we were doing the choking the other person to death practice.

We were planning to go swimming, but we'd had a smallish lunch and my blood sugar took a nosedive. Since I didn't have a snack, we headed out to find one ASAP. I try not to let that happen very often, but when it does it's an awful feeling. It's very hard to concentrate.

We had a walk through some pretty good rain and found a cafe that served us apple juice right away, and a chicken sandwich. It was really nummy, and I'll have to remember it for the future.

After the snack, we decided to do a little homework for the combat class and went to the library to pick up the DVD of MacBeth. The performance of MacBeth was by a young Ian MacKlellan. He was hot...but since MacBeth is a bit crazy that took a bit of the shine away. So we spent the rest of the afternoon watching the movie, and dozing.

I took S home last night, then went to get some soup for dinner, then I went to bed and read and watched television last night before going to sleep at 10:30. I slept for 10 hours. It was glorious.

Today, the sun is occassionally shining and it looks like the rain has stopped for a bit. I have some errands to run, but mostly I'm staying home and cleaning today. I have a $25 gift card for CA Pizza Kitchen, so I think that I'll treat myself to dinner out. Then I have a netflix movie to watch and some taxes to work on.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday.

Just gearing up for a Superbowl party, and helping my son cram for a geometry test tomorrow. I HATE GEOMETRY, and this from a guy who actually likes math. Spins, are you diabetic?

Nope, not diabetic. I had my blood sugar tested last July and it was a-ok. But I do get hypoglycemic episodes, every once in awhile. This one was brought on by eating a small lunch followed by lot's of exercise, and no snack brought along. I'm probably one of those people who should be eating 5 small meals throughout the day.

Although, today I'm having 3 with no snacks and I've been cleaning all day, which definitely is a workout.

AH, but MacBeth doesn't hold a candle to his loony wife. If you want a good laugh, watch the old Orson Wells' version in black and white. He was the original director, but was being so difficult about every shot that he went over budget and was finally replaced. You can tell when the new director took over, too. It goes from moody, implied violence, to overt. My favorite? When Lady Macbeth throws herself from the castle and her body bounces off the cliff. Yeah, I know... not funny. But the transition from implied to overt was so abrupt and unexpected, everyone in my class (we were watching it for a theater class) burst out in spontaneous laughter. MacBeth's death wasn't funny, just gruesome. But Lady MacBeth's exeunt makes me smile to this day. Perhaps you had to be there. *G*
