Monday Ramblings

So why, I ask you, did W attend the Pope's funeral? He isn't a Catholic. He doesn't believe in peace (or his actions would be different). I can only think that he wanted to reinforce his allignment with conservative Catholics who are pro-life. Coming so quickly on the heals of the Schiavo debacle, I can only imagine that he is politicking to raise that deflated approval rating.

I just had to get that off my chest.

So the spinster did something she hasn't done in a long time. She went out, on a Saturday night, with friends for dinner and drinks. Yes, I darkened the door of a public house for the purposes of alcohol consumption on a Saturday evening. And someone else was driving!

Clearly my life needs an upgrade.

I also rented movies for the first time in a while...I bet you can guess the mood I was in on Friday by the titles I rented...The Corporation...The Time of the Wolf...Resident Evil. Now, I admit, I wasn't much in the mood for a movie when I did get around to Resident Evil, but, really, is there a sillier movie made? I couldn't continue to watch and ended up playing Yahtzee against my palm pilot instead. The Corporation was good and reaffirmed that veganism needs to happen soon for me (really, hearing about Monsanto and all the ways we manipulate animals and plants is rather icky!). The Time of the Wolf was so refreshing. I tried to imagine the US take on this and realized that it would have been filled with violence and sex (probably violent sex). Thank god for the French!

I hope your Monday goes well...I'm still reeling from the fact that I don't get a 4 day weekend every week.

Thank god for the French?
Now there's a phrase you don't hear everyday!

Can you tell I'm English?

Thank you for that bit on Bush! I was wondering the same thing! Although there were other world leaders who are not catholic, he seemed the most out of place. The PR Prez.

And thanks for the ode to the french! We are a good bunch!
