"There's more than one answer to these questions, pointing me in a crooked line"

ST found this fun little game of Ipod shuffle, and Flash did his own version. How can I not follow such fine fellows, I ask you?

There's one problem...the exercise requires an Ipod (answering the questions through the shuffle function, in hopes of a "random" response), and I am sadly lacking one. So I decided to modify the game a bit, and have figured out a way to generate random Indigo Girl songs (because they have been my musical gurus the longest) to answer the questions posed below. Let the fun ensue!

1. What do you think of me?
Everything in Its Own Time
"All around the table
White haired men are gathered
Spilling their sons' blood like table wine."

No need to get hostile. Really, I'll stop stalking you, I promise!

2. Will I have a happy life?
Secure Yourself
"Secure yourself to heaven.
Hold on tight, the night has come.
Fasten up your earthly burdens,
You have just begun."

A long life, with a lot of struggle it seems.

3. What do my friends really think of me?
Virginia Woolf
"Where you hold me is dark in the pocket of truth."

I'm glad I'm such a comfort!

4. What does my significant other think of me?
Shame on You
"Beautiful ladies walk on by
You know I never know what to say."

Yeah, that about sums up my romantic life to date.

5. Do people secretly lust after me?
Cut it out
"Hey my my rockstar,
I saw your feet leave the ground."

Wow! Really, I'm approachable! Approach me!

6. How can I make myself happy?
Sister
"I said it's trust that brought me here
And trust will bring me home."

That's fairly self-explanatory.

7. What should I do with my life?
Gone Again
"Honey, all this is to say
Every dog don't got its day.
If we take the love we're given,
And we throw it all away."

Yes, yes, I'll take love...I'll trust...but I say again, approach me!

8. Why must life be so painful?
Let It Be Me
"The world seems spent
And the president
Has no good idea of who the masses are."

Suddenly we've gone from the micro to the macro, but this still makes a lot of sense.

9. What advice can you give me?
Crazy Game
"You dry your tears.
Don't be thinking grey is here to stay."

So the glass is half-full?

10. What do you think true happiness is?
Burn All the Letters
"Burn all the letters (someone is always watching)
The government's on the phone (whether openly or secretly)
Burn all the letters (breathe life into your story)
Send them on to a safer home (Burn it in secrecy)"

Yes, paranoia is always a good fall back...but not very happy.

11. Will I die happy?
Nashville
"They talk of falling fast.
They say I'm losing it all.
They say I'm running blind
to a love of my own.
But I'll be walking proud.
I'm saving what I still own."

Well, that seems hopeful...if you can consider that there's anything hopeful about dying.

Hmmm...kind of a mixed result with the IG Oracle. Maybe next time I'll have Flash ask Humbert for me...he (can an Ipod have a gender?) seems to be the true genius.

I love your choice of oracle!

I don't have an ipod either. I do, however, have the Druid Animal oracle cards. In the hopes of finding some fun and silly answers for you I asked about your love life. Instead, it turned up some interesting responses. I could post them here, or send them to you privately if you liked. You can email me at cjmerriman@comcast.net

Or you could give it a pass altogether. *G*

Hey! Thanks for the comment.

Actually I have seen your name, on and off, on various blogs that I haunt. Now that we have been formally introduced, I will probably be back...

I like that idea. I would put "12 o'clock curfew" or Ani's "living in clip" on shuffle and give it a whirl, although I am thinking of using the songs off my local radio station. That might work too, since I like everything they play...Hmmm.

Need asn IPod so I don't feel like a loser.

Good to know I am not the last one on the planet to get one

Humbert: HE is indeed a genius!
