"Grandma got run over by a reindeer"

I'm interrupting the previously scheduled discussion on what constitutes greatness in art to just say FUCK!

This is what I found when I went to go to my car this a.m.:

This is how they got in:

I don't really give a shit about the car per se (it does it's job but I don't love the thing), but here I sit now at home. I have to wait for the claim's adjustor to call me back to find out if I have any coverage for rentals on my car insurance. I had to cancel my therapy. I may have to cancel my clients today.

And the police response? We'll send you a form to fill out and send back in.

I do get some slim satisfaction that the twunty bastards weren't smart enough to figure out how to actually steal it. And also that, although there's a lot of crap in my car, there was nothing valuable for them to steal.

Okay, now go to the previous post and read Swiss Toni's review! (Yes, that's an order...I'm in no mood to be messed with today!)

What a horrible, horrible way to start your day! I hope the insurance company comes through for you!

*going back to previous discussion, as ordered*

Oh Spinny, I'm so sorry. That sucks! I hate to say it, but it looks like they got exactly what they wanted, and that would be the airbag. I know it's hard to believe, but there is a big underground market for these things. F'ing thieves.

Ick! That bites!I am so sorry.

At least you still have a car, though.

Wow. Sorry Spins.

Renton - wow! I didn't know that about the airbag. Not that it will change much about me having one in my car, but still.

I just want the damn adjustor to call so that I can get on with my day!

um. stupid question.... but you did once have a steering wheel, right? Only it looks like your car has some sort of weird hybrid motorbike handle thing going on there. I have to ask.... that's not some American thing is it?

(and sorry about the hassles!)

ST - yes, I had a steering wheel and a steering column and an airbag, which according to renton (above) is what they were after.

The service guys say that they have never seen one with the steering column broken off so far down. They were having a huddle to figure out how to steer it while it's at the shop.
