"The room temperature reaches 104"

I'm boiling right now...for several reasons:

1. I'm actually running a mild temp.

2. My car is still not available to me. My insurance people thought that mailing a check over the Christmas holiday weekend might be a good idea. It still has not been received by my garage. They will not release my car until they receive it.

3. I had a message from one of my dialysis patients on my home answering machine when I got in. Not a good situation...and now I'm left to wonder who gave him my home number (and why he thought it might be a good idea to call it anyway).

On a more positive note, B picked me up and drove me to go grocery shopping and to have some dinner. The irony of the day was the Trader Joe's checker who had a book called "Power Politics" stuck into the back of his khakies (and no I wasn't intending to stare at his ass, it just happened).

I'm ODing on Very Chocolate Mini Meringues (trying to peel myself off the ceiling from that phone message), waiting for my Advil to kick in, then I'm off for a hot bath and early to bed.

Here's some pretty pictures for you all:

This is Jesse, an australian shepherd. He's my new brother (who mom talks about non-stop.

This is the world's largest cat. Believe it or not, his name's Max.

This was the Minneapolis/St Paul Airport the night I flew in. The picture doesn't quite do the mass of car congestion justice.

The tree...

The best of the presents, the fuzzy flip flops!

Glad your home safely (relatively, except for the message). I always felt a broken boundary when that happened to me. I liked the pics!
Hope you have a great 2006.

Glad you're home safe and sound, but you'll be missed here. Hope the car and work situation settle down soon. Wish I could send soup, although mini-meringues probably cure most ills.

The small grey-and-white sends her regards. She puked on the floor today instead of my bed. Good girl.

Jesus Platypus Christ, lookit them flip-flops.

Suuuure, you were not looking at his ass, I know you and grocery stores check out clerks.

I'm sorry about the car and particularly sorry about the phone message. Could he have found you in the book? That would cause me great distress as well.

I do love the fuzzy flip-flops. They are one of a kind! I also love the picture of your new "brother" and the cat next to him who is staring at the heat vent, as if to will it to turn on, in true cat fashion.

Sorry that you're not feeling well and things aren't working out at the moment. The photos are great though. I love the shots of Jesse and Max (of course- critters!) and I can just imagine you wearing those flip flops to work. Yes, I know. But it would be fun to see their faces! *G*

I have more than one phone number and I have given out, one when meaning to give the other. I am sure that is not what you did. But I would rule out that posibility out first. Then there is the old fashioned, just ask your client, way. Mailing cheques on Christmas holidays usually what my clients do to me. But the work is already done, and in the clients possession

One of our cats is 22 pounds. The thing can barely walk.

Great fuzzy slippers!

Hope you're feeling better.
