"I saw her, yeah, I saw her"

So, you may know (or not), that Noelle did not win Miss USA. She didn't even make it into the top 15. And, for that, I am eternally greatful. It was a pretty awful spectacle. So completely inane and offensive on many levels. I do think she looked beautiful, and I hope that she had a lot of fun during the week leading up to it.

My weekend, otherwise, has been pretty nice. I had a coffee date on Saturday with a nice guy who just was not my type. He's an accountant, and seems to have a pretty difficult time connecting to people. It wasn't ackward, just not very fun.

I took 2 naps today. I'm not sure why I'm feeling so lazy, but I guess when the day calls for it, you just need to nap. I really haven't been on the computer that much this weekend, either - hence the lack of blogging. I'm really trying to be gentle with my shoulders and that means trying to minimize non-work related computer stuff. Maybe by next weekend, it will feel better.

I did finish watching the series Firefly. You know, I just don't understand why these shows don't last longer. It didn't even finish a complete season. It might be the next thing I buy to add to my library, though. It's a damn good series. Tonight, I'm going to continue on with Highlander, then read some before bed.

So to continue on with my musical inventory, here are the Bs:

Guero, Beck - I really like this CD...there's so much playfulness with it.

Buena Vista Social Club - Doesn't everyone have this?! I really enjoy it every once in awhile, but it was so overplayed for awhile that it really is sort of a "side dish" of my musical choices these days.

Are we not femme?, The Butchies - Lesbian punk-rock...what's not to love? I saw them back-up Amy Ray when she did her solo tour. It was the first concert in which I gave myself whiplash by dancing too hard. Good times!

The Bs are pretty slim in their content. Some day, I've got to get some Beastie Boys to add to the collection. Anyone else?

I have a lot of "B's." Off the non-classical/ non-Broadway stuff and off top of my head-- Jeff Buckley, Mary J. Blige, Bon Jovi, the Beatles, Laura Branigan, Jacques Brel, Garth Brooks. (Did I just admit to that? Um, yeah... I guess I did...)

I, too, am glad Blogger has been restored.

I like naps.

:)

I guess I would suggest "Bitch and Animal" one of the Kid's favorites and quite funny. Hyde, I do love Jacques, but he is not to be listened to if one is in a depressive mood, as he is not your pick me up kinda guy!

Can't go wrong with a little James Brown, and I'm a big Blur fan.

My "B's" have been around a while ... B-52's Cosmic Thing, Beatles, Jackson Browne's World in Motion, and since my collection leans folkier, Greg Brown's Dream Cafe.

Also realized I had an A suggestion... Avenue Q Soundtrack, which is a lot of fun, tho' I don't listen to it so much. I REALLY want to see it.

I've napped way more than usual this weekend, as a combination of a bad cold and working overnight at the hospital Sat. night. Naps are good, tho' a little disorienting at times.

We're borrowing Firefly from E's sister, but haven't watched any of it yet, as it seems to be nearly finals week at our house and thus rather panicky and anxious.

Have you seen Serenity yet? It's the Firefly movie. A little more graphic, but equally as good.

Matt - I have seen Serenity. I really liked it, but now that I've seen the series, I have to go back and watch it. It will make so much more sense.

Oh, I forgot the Barenaked Ladies and Blame Sally, a girl group from a friend of mine.

I give you alot of credit for supporting your cousin so much. It must be tough to root a family member on in an endeavor that we are so against personally. You came out of it as classy as usual. Good job, and keep smiling, and for gods sake, don't stop napping.

the Bs. Hmmm.

Belly - feed the tree
The Beach Boys - sunflower
the Beatles - revolver
The Beta Band - the 3 EPs
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
The Boo Radleys - Giant steps / wake up

and of course... Billy Joel!

And anything by Billy Bragg (but especially "Mermaid Avenue" - the album he did with Wilco of Woody Guthrie songs)

Will that do you for starters?
