"Who do you think you are?"

One thing about craigslist, it certainly does provide such beautiful fodder for the blog. Good news is that most of the initial respondees were pretty normal. I feel a bit bad for the folks who I reject out of hand for their lack of English or awful, awful writing. But not enough to stop. I weeded one gentleman out because he got impatient that I hadn't called him as soon as I got his phone number. I explained I was at work and couldn't take personal calls (not entirely true, but I'm not going to have that ackward first phone conversation while patient X is standing in the doorway wanting me to check on his Medi-Cal). He then sent me an e-mail asking me for my work number. Ick!

I'm trying to imagine why I got the one from a dad in Texas...although he did mention that his 21 year old son was in Canada, so maybe he thought someone in between would be convenient. I got asked to accompany someone on their work trip to DC next week (all expenses paid), sadly I had to decline. DC is beautiful this time of year. But my favorite was the one which simply said, "I want to eat you." Wow! And this just from a head shot.

Anyway, I have a dinner date with someone I've dubbed in my head, SlowTalker. I don't think it's going to go anywhere...there were lot's of strange pauses. I've already set up a lunch date at the end of next week with TwinMan (his designation - not mine). It's all a bit overwhelming though...and I'm reminded of why I get tired of it so quickly.

I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

On a side note, I also was pretty productive at work today. It's a miracle.

Okay, so I'm on to the Js...

Fit to Be Tied, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - She just rocks!
Spirit, Jewel - I really like this CD...it's a bit treacly (I think that's the right usage of the word), but sometimes that's just what you need.
Come Away With Me, Norah Jones - well, she's okay. I know there was a lot of hype over her in the past couple years...but I just think she's okay.
Greatest Hits, V. 1 & 2, Billy Joel - "Play us a song, you're the piano man!"
Greatest Hits, Janis Joplin - you knew it had to be there!

I know I'm missing some - bring it on!

Wow, the world is full of great guys and you stumble on these wackos! You deserve much better my dear.

The Js: Anik Jean, of course Grace Jones!!!!!, and Jorane, a cellist from quebec who sings and incorporates some native rythms to her music.

Like you said, at least you have stuff to blog about, if nothing else pans out from your craigslist people :) So my big J is Jane's Addiction - I fell in love with them in college and have seen them probably 7 or 8 times, including at the first Lollapalooza (tripping on acid of course). Even though I don't listen to them daily anymore, they are near and dear to my heart and their CDs are great for road trips especially.

Yes, some guys do like to say "I want to eat you." It's a favorite of Sing-Man's. Is it too personal to ask what type of ad you're putting up? You certainly seem to have loads of options. Good luck at dinner! What type of cuisine will you be having? P.S. I know I don't comment here too much, but these past two posts have been about my two favorite topics--dating and the Indigo Girls! I see a friendship beginning!
