The Bird Flu

Well, okay, maybe not. But I'm still sick. Going on 3 days. Last night wasn't as bad as the night before, which was awful. Did you know that your skin hurts with fevers sometimes. I guess I'd forgotten.

I generally am just feeling fatigued and feverish. I'm planning to go in to the MD tomorrow (and I won't be going to work) because my temp this a.m. was 99.6 still. Yesterday, I had temperatures near normal for awhile, but that all changed last night again.

I'm trying to drink enough fluids, but then I have to get up to pee every 10 minutes. It sucks.

HippyChick and BeeDragon came by on Friday and brought me some tylenol and water - of course, they were going to take me to the emergency room because I told them my temperature was 104...but I'd made a mistake in reading it - it was 100.4. Big difference.

I was craving tomato soup and ginger ale today, so SlowTalker brought some by. He also spent some time regailing me with tales of trips that he's taken. I really do think that the worst thing about being sick is the absolute boredom. It's often combined with the attention span of a gnat, which is no good. B also called and told me about her new dog, Flint. He sounds just a cutie.

Speaking of dogs, I'm starting a housesit tonight. It's going to take all my energy to take care of that puppy dog. But it should be fine. I'm just going to spend a lot of time lying on their couch watching cable tomorrow. Hopefully, by Tuesday I'll feel like I can remain upright for most of a day and can go to work.

Well, friends, I'm off to check my e-mails, then go back to bed.

It sounds like you have some wonderful, caring people in your life. Good luck looking after the puppy dog, and also in looking after yourself.
