Wow! So I sent my mailing out on Wednesday and people have already received it (it's local, of course). I've already gotten 3 calls about it. 2 were calls of support - 1 from my former supervisor who is the sweetest woman ever! But one was from another therapist who said she wished that such a group had existed for her 10 years ago. Then there was also a referral for individual therapy...it's not one I can probably take right now, but it's great to have had that immediate reaction. It feels like there's some pay-off already.
I spent most of yesterday running around doing errands and cleaning my house. I went to Trader Joe's and bought a bunch of different frozen things. I'm trying to break myself of the bad habit of getting takeout several times a week. It's a huge money drain. So if I'm not going to make time to cook (which I did last night, and I'm quite proud of my creation since it was just improvising), I will at least have something that I can pop in the oven.
You know, I like to think that I'm a bright woman, but sometimes that part of my brain is just not thinking. Some people lose themselves in computer games that have stories and involve various levels. I lose myself in computer games that are mindless and repetitive. It shuts down the part of my brain that thinks too much. I know that I have the potential to become sucked into these types of games. So what did I do with that knowledge last weekend? I went out and bought a mahjong game to put on my computer. My rule for today is that when I leave for my client, I will turn off the computer and not turn it back on for the rest of the day. It must be done or I will become a mahjong zombie.
Tomorrow, I'm off with S to the Highland Games. They will be having sheep dog trials as a part of the Games. Yay! for happy dogs. It's been awhile since I've heard me some bagpipes. Then Monday, I think we're going swimming. This may be more learning to swim with my head down.
Have I mentioned how happy I am to have Monday off? Happy Labor Day, everyone!

Great news about the flyers! I hope even more good comes from them. :0)
As for computer games, I enjoy the mind-numbing ones. The ones I really get into are story-driven mysteries with puzzles to solve. Things like the Myst series, for example, or CSI, etc.
Enjoy your weekend!
I'm glad to have monday off as well, good luck with the flyers, and for what it's worth, I'll lay back on your professional couch any time. Go get em.
