Criminal Minds

I've spent much down time in the past several days watching the 1st season of the above named show. I love it. Who doesn't love Mandy Patinkin, though? But I just love the way that the cast plays off of one another.

My two crushes from the show are:



Matthew Gray Gubler as Dr. Spencer Reed, and



Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia

I suppose it should come as no surprise that these two are the least hip and somewhat geeky characters. I'm just a geek-lover is all. They had a bio piece about Matthew on the DVD set, and he seems quite a bit like a geek in real life too. *sigh*

The downfall of this show, and especially of watching 11 episodes all at once, is that it is about serial killers. Some of the things that they describe and investigate are pretty horrific. Generally, this does not phase me much. I tend to be able to put it into the "not-real" category in my brain...and it helps that I'm fascinated by their profiling. They tend to be much more accurate and less historionic in how they categorize and analyze people than say Law & Order. But it definitely bothers some like HippyChick and BeeDragon who can't watch it anymore.

I'd worry that I was getting jaded, but then I read in the Chronicle that some kid was arrested for torturing a tortoise and the horror that this really does happens comes up. I guess I'm just really good at compartmentalizing my television from my reality.

I'm feeling really good this week. I went for a walk to the library and back after work last night. It's the first time in a long time that I've had that much energy after work. Yay!
