Busy, busy

It's a busy week this week. Monday night was stage combat class. We spent the first half with the broadswords. Let me tell you, it's a good workout for the arm and back muscles. Even S, who can pull himself up on a bar and do all sorts of gymnastics type things, was having a hard time...it just uses different muscles. The second half was unarmed combat. It's all planned out, so you learn the moves then put the emotion into it. It's fun.

Last night, I went to a class at the Citadel, the dungeon space in SF. It was on bringing spirituality into a "scene." (A "scene" is a negotiated interaction, usually involving bondage or domination or pain or all three.) It was fascinating. I realized, as the class progressed, that this was all very alien to me. Although what S & I do sometimes involves these things, it is much more integrated into our relationship. And so having to conciously think about being present with him or trusting him to take care of my safety is a bit foreign. Of course, he does those things. I never have to conciously think about trusting him, and that allows me to just be present.

The other piece that was frustrating was that it was taught from the top's perspective. The teacher, Master Hines, was really interesting and beautiful, but I'm not a top, and I don't know that I ever really want to be. I left wishing for something different...

Tonight, I head over to HippyChick & BeeDragon's for dinner and to hang out. It has been so long since I've hung out with them, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Thursday night, I'm having dinner, after seeing a client, with my suitemate in my private practice. Again, it's long overdue.

Friday, I just might have some time to rest.

That combat class sounds like a great time!

I'm sorry the Citadel wasn't quite what you had hoped for, though.
