"Vacation, all I ever wanted"

The day started well, and seemed to go a bit downhill from there. I have issues these days with work. The primary one being that I don't want to be there. Oh, not permanently gone. I just want my vacation...which is three weeks away (oh, and what fun filled, stressed out weeks they will be).

And, of course, my resentment about not being able to be on vacation NOW is only exacerbated by the fact that the President I didn't elect is taking another vacation. This man has spent an estimated 20% of his presidency at his ranch...and now he's there again - for a month! Yes, yes, I'm sure that a vacation for the president is not quite like a vacation for me. Pesky national concerns will take him away from his schmoozing with the heads of state of oil rich countries and CEOs of energy companies, I'm sure. But, really, folks - a month!

I'm not sure what the average vacation is outside of the US, but you are lucky here if you get 2 weeks. And now with the advent of PTO (paid time off), sometimes you get to have national holidays (which seem to disappear like water in Las Vegas) and sick-time lumped in as well. And they wonder why employees are disgruntled or get "sick" so often.

Anyway, I'm annoyed. So I came home after seeing clients and decided to do some updates to my blogroll, and e-mail blogger about why my sidebar content still seems to like the bottom of the page, then surf my favorite blogs. But here's the catch, many of my favorite blogs are written by people who are now in bed (or just waking)...why the hell is the UK so far away from California, anyway?...and so I went on a blog hunt.

I needed laughter, and I found it here and in the post titled "What I Did for Love" here (you have to scroll down the page just a bit to find it).

It's my turn for sleep now...

I bet you he doesnt spend half his holiday doing work, you know.

Unless you count work as "learning to read".

I had a day off on Wednesday for a bit of a break, and ended up doing four hours work. Rubbish.

How's it been going? Just returned from a "sort of vacation" myself, it was work, but not for my regular stress filled job. LOL

Those three weeks will pass by before you know it.

You've really written a lot in the past 3 weeks, I think I may need to take a vacation just to read them all.

Thanks for the nice plug, spinsterwitch! I'm glad I made you laugh and, in the process, discovered your great blog too!

At least if Numb-Nuts is on vacation, it's harder for him to get us into more trouble. *G*

Anyway, I hope your own vacation arrives quickly!
