"Should old acquaintance be forgot"

I'm not going to do a best of, or a year in review. This year has so many sweet moments...that also have a lot of bitterness associated with them. I've already taken stock, and it's helped give me some perspective to this depression. But I don't feel the need to rehash it all with you right now.

I want to take the time today to celebrate, far too briefly (I suppose I'll spend more time on it in January at my blog birthday), this little blogland that I've fallen into. Sometimes it does feel a little like I'm Alice in a very special Wonderland.

All of you, people in my real life and those who I only know at this point by reading your words, have been incredible for me in this past year. I feel that through this lovely blog medium I have been able to grow and inhabit myself in a way that I never imagined I would. I couldn't have done it without the loving support and encouragement of those of you who read and comment here.

There have been times when it felt that this blog was the only ray of sunlight in my life. That is a bit sad, perhaps, but the truth is that this last several months would have been terribly difficult without this outlet.

I hope that you all have a fun and safe celebration of the ending of this year and the beginning of the new (although there are a few of you already in 2006 as I write this).

Blessings to all!

And here is that rose bush I mentioned in yesterday's post!

Happy New Year, Spin. I meant to pop on and wish you a Happy Solstice also - brilliant time of year, the winter solstice - but I'm ten days overdue so just know I was thinking about you all week.

May 2006 bring you all the love and joy you deserve. You are a beautiful soul, and we are all lucky to know you too.
