"Your daddy's rich and your mama's good-looking"

Well, my daddy's not rich, but he doesn't have a cancerous tumor growing in his left lung. Now they want to check for Whooping Cough (which would seem strange, except that my mother had it in the fall last year). But it's not a recurrance of the cancer and that has me feeling a little giddy!

And my mama is good looking, I think. She was movie star gorgeous in her wedding picture, and although she's aged, she's still lovely. My facial structure is all from my dad's side of the family, but apparently the genetic combination of the two left me looking a bit like Janis, according to Mystic (scroll down to the celebrity doubles posts). Those pictures of her laughing are pretty strikingly similar to what I look like. Now if only I had her voice.

This weekend was really good, I got to have dinner with 2 friends who I haven't seen for awhile. We stayed at the restaurant talking for 3 hours. These are friends who joined me last year for a triple feature of the Lord of the Rings movies one Saturday. It was an adventure, and they want to do it again! So I will probably be hosting another. It's going to have to wait until after B moves out and I can re-arrange things to accomodate a few more people, but it's exciting to know that a few people are interested.

I like the way that Mondays are bringing good things my way these days. It's a big turn around.

Yeah, you really do look like Janis! If you chug a bottle of whiskey and smoke several packs of cigarettes throughout the day, I bet your voice might sound similar, too. Of course you won't be able to breathe and you'll have a nasty hangover. But at least if you still don't sound like her ( her voice was pretty unique), you'll be too drunk to notice.

Ok, I'm done being silly. *G*

I'm so happy to hear about your father! What an incredible relief that must be for you, and I'm so glad. :0)
