A break

Last night, I went to dinner with HippyChick and ExecutiveDirector. I love it when we get together. We are all really smart and articulate and insightful. Am I bragging? Damn right, I am. I have fabulous friends, which I know reflects well on me. And, except for S going crazy and dealings with CA Dept of Rehab, we really are very stable and settled women.

ED has a lovely husband and the most beautiful toddler in the world. I declined to offer babysitting services because, well, my tolerance for toddlers is not very high. Once he's a bit older, I'll be happy to sit with him for an evening.

HC has a lovely wife and 4 fabulous kitties. She is an amazing friend and we sometimes seem somewhat interchangeable in our ideas/beliefs/interests.

We all have stable work that is going fairly well and we enjoy. We have many interests that fill our lives.

And we have really cool animated discussions when we are together.

It was, to say the least, a much needed break in the recent bleakness of my outlook. It has helped me wake feeling much less sad today. I'm relishing that feeling.

Well, I'm off to a training on advances in Organ Donation today, then I have a very full day tomorrow with appointments and errands.

Do you remember the old Bob Seger song Hollywood Nights? One of my favorite lines is "See some old friends, good for the soul"

Very true. I hope you feel better soon.
